Container gardening for mindfulness

Hello my flower loving friends,

It’s cold and wet out so I’ve installed myself in the greenhouse for a bit of shelter with a cup of tea and some potted iris bulbs. There is something so satisfying about container planting. It needn’t be on a large scale, just the simple act of creating something instant that you can put somewhere to brighten up a spot or, give to a friend. This is an old reclaimed brick box which I have simply placed pots of irises in and covered over with moss. All it needs is a misting every other day (indoors) to keep it looking fresh. When they are finished I will swap them out for something else.

I found an old zinc window box which I’ve absolutely packed out with bulbs to make a grand centre piece for my table.

Just add candles, coffee and a good book! This is my daughter Lilly and I swooning over one of our favourite books- Pretty City London. We’re planning lots of lovely girly trips once its safe to do so. What’s on your end of lockdown list? Coffee with friends… A meal out with the family… Whatever it is, plant up a little container of blooms to give them.

Emma xx
